Choosing a freelancer for your project may be the best decision you've made, however it's important you know how freelancing and I work.

Why should hire a freelancer (ie: Me)

There are quite a few reasons why freelancers may be your choice of web design/development:

  • Budget - We're usually much cheaper than web agencies
  • Turn-Around - Despite most freelancers holding down full-time jobs we work almost all our evenings and weekends and can turn projects round in days not weeks.
  • Personal - you'll always deal with the one individual, which makes problem solving and communication much easier
  • Transparent Billing - I charge one off per project, simple as that. You must pay for your domain and hosting, which I can organise for you, but won't be responsible for. If you want more work done, I'll quote you or we can discuss you're requirements. No per hour charges, no on going fee.

Likewise there's a few reasons why freelancers may not be the best choice:

  • 24hr Support - As they usually have other jobs, you won't come last, but you must understand that everyone has time constraints and unlike larger corporations they simply can't offer around the clock, drop of a hat support. As such I try to answer and deal with any email support request within 24 hrs of receiving it.
  • Large Solutions - So you've gone from being a local provider, to national or maybe even international and it's time to upgrade the old website and start integrating systems. First off, Congratulations! Now I could provide you with the solution you need however, there's no way I'd be able support it. The fact is once a project reaches a certain size it simple isn't feasible for a freelancer to do and support, and it isn't ideal for either party. So when the time comes to make the jump up, I'd be more than happy to look over your proposal and offer my assistance in finding a good web agency.
  • Still get in touch - Even if I can't help you I'll find someone who can

Who are my ideal clients?

I work best with either new startups or ventures who need a web prescene or small to medium businesses who are either looking for an upgrade or want to get their foot on the web property ladder.

Either they want assistance on they already know exactly what they want and are looking for a provider to assist in meeting their requirements.

Who won't I work with, what can't I do?

I won't make Amazon, EBay, Play.com for you, you wouldn't believe how may people start a brief like this, it's simply not going to happen, these projects cost upwards of 100's of 1000's and if you want to invest that sort of money, don't do it through a freelancer (see above)

I obviously can't do anything outside my current skill set, this includes full flash sites (although I do hate them anyway), however I'll be more than happy to assist you, from my contacts, in finding someone who can help you.

Pricing

I'll quote based upon each indiviual project, based upon your requirements and time-scales.

Projects

As I said throughout the site I won't take on a project I know I can't or will struggle to deliver, it's not fair on you, the client, and it will only cause problems down the line. I will, however, be more than happy to help you find another web agency who can cater for your exact needs.

Brief, Budget and Deadlines

Please contact me with a clear indication of what you are hoping to achieve along with a realistic budget and deadline.

We're all in the same boat here, by being transparent with you, I hope you are with me. Telling me you budget doesn't mean I'll overcharge you, but it allows me to tailor my proposal to suit you, if it's too low then I'll suggest areas we could cut in order to bring the price down. Same goes for deadlines.

Alright, I'm interested

Good to hear it! We've already covered the brief, budget and deadlines, so get in touch and we'll take it from there.
